Make Time Work for You

Make Time Your Friend
So You Can Afford to Work From Home

Most people would like to or need to have more money coming into their household. The challenge is to make that desire match up with their schedule. It seems like everybody is so busy these days. It is as if there is no time left for ourselves, let alone finding a way to make some extra cash.

While it is true we are busy, I bet I can help you find enough extra time for some part-time work from home opportunities. You will most likely have to adjust your lifestyle a bit, but it can be done fairly painlessly.

Let’s get started. Grab a pad of paper and a pen. We’ll call the pad of paper your journal. Keep this journal with you at all times. It will be handy in case you have an idea when you are on the phone, watching TV, or even in the grocery line. Now let’s spend a few minutes starting your journal.

We need to get those pesky things clouding your mind out of there, a little soulful housekeeping. Spend fifteen minutes making a list of everything you need to get done that you’ve been putting off. Then schedule at least one hour of everyday of the next week and complete your list. If you need to cut out having a glass of wine or beer with friends, or some eating out do it. It will make you feel better physically and mentally.

Now, write out your daily routine from wake up to bedtime, step by step. Make sure to include everything you normally do everyday. Look over your routine closely. You should be able to find an extra couple of hours you can devote to your new opportunity. You may have to get up a little earlier or give up some TV watching, but I know you can do it.

Ok, you should have found some extra time in the last exercise. Now let’s do some planning. Let’s start with tomorrow. Make a list of all of the tasks you need to complete and schedule them.

Organize your time daily in your journal. Try to carryout your different errands at the same time. Make trips to the grocery store after work. Stop by the drycleaners during your lunch break. Pay attention to time you are wasting throughout the day. Especially time wasted on email, telephone, surfing the net, etc. Eliminate all of these Time Parasites robbing you of your financial freedom.

Set aside a specific start and end time for household duties. Don’t worry if you don’t get the whole house clean, yard mowed, car washed and bills paid in one day. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish if you schedule this time in your journal and focus on the task at hand when you are doing it. Remember this is your time to do these chores. Don’t get distracted by the telephone or friends stopping by.

After a week or two of scheduling your time you will begin to see some areas where you have some time to spend working on a part-time project. It’s just a matter of arranging your priorities. The secret to success is planning and focus.

At the beginning of each day look over your journal and schedule your day. Make sure to schedule in your part-time work projects. Be realistic when scheduling your projects. Don’t give yourself an hour for something that will take a week. Always estimate more time than you think it will take. At the end of the day reflect and consider if there were any opportunities for you to be more efficient with your time. Was there? Take that into account for tomorrow.

Don’t forget take time to relax and enjoy life. Make sure you make time for your family and hobbies. Balance is the key to success and happiness.
